Bridging the Gap is a program that helps eliminate the gap between the introduction of sport and recreation in the rehabilitation setting and continued involvement in physical activity. The program provides programs called “Have-A-Go Days” and evenings that provide opportunities for individuals to experience and play a variety of wheelchair sports in a supportive, fun atmosphere. We provide wheelchair athlete volunteers to demonstrate the sports and to let participants know about future clinics and ongoing programs that are available to them.
Bridging the Gap, Getting Physically Active is a program specifically designed to help you become aware of the sport and recreation options available, and to try out wheelchair sports of your choice. The program currently funded by and promotes the sports of Basketball, Rugby, and Tennis, but if you are interested in something else, just let us know and we'll help you get connected to the right people or program. Whatever wheelchair sport you decide to participate in, Bridging the Gap (BTG) is designed to help you get involved and stay involved.
Provincial partners in Saskatchewan include the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in Regina and the City Hospital Rehabilitation Centre in Saskatoon.
